Are you walking humbly with God?

He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8

While you endeavor for excellence in walking with your Creator, how do you handle the world around you?

Let’s use an example.

Politics.

With so much chaos going on in the world, looking to politicians for answers will not get you very far. Conversing about politics with family, friends, and co-workers can disrupt everyone’s lives, and leave you feeling hopeless.

But don’t despair.

Randomness

When it comes to politics, Almighty God YHWH is in charge.

He puts kings in the places where He needs them most to fulfill his will.  Trust in God, not in man.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. Psalm 118:8

Daniel blessed the God of heaven, and said, “Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. “It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding. It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.” Daniel 2:21-22

Holding Light

Discussions about politics are virtually fruitless. They don’t have any good answers.

They fight and bicker, accuse, and lie. Their propaganda is not healing, nor is it enlightening.

Almighty God already chose his son Jesus Christ to be King.

Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” John 18:37

And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. Revelation 1:5-7

Rainbow 1

How about another subject.

The current state of the planet.

When it comes to the environment, global warming, and corrupt people destroying our ecosystem, are you hopeful or hopeless?

Rainbow 2

What if you knew that no matter what the leading rulers of this planet did to the earth, in the end God will heal it and people will live on it?

You can know.

The Bible teaches concepts about people living on our planet in the future when God renovates it. (Psalm 37). He will repair what man has done to it and will restore it to a wholesome condition.

It also teaches that man will not start and fight wars at that time.

When God establishes his house, people will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks, nation won’t lift up swords against each other, and they will never again learn war. Isaiah 2:2-4

That can give you hope.

Trust in God.

Conversations about politics and the state of this planet need to be constructed to give people confidence and courage.

You might think man is in charge. But man’s life is like a vapor, here and then gone quickly.

Man is like a mere breath; His days are like a passing shadow. Psalm 144:4

Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. James 4:14

Your expectation doesn’t need to be unrealistic, but try to find some optimism in God’s word.

Realist

Back to the original topic, are you walking humbly with your Creator?

If so, how do you know?

  • Do you think about Him every day, and pray to him through His Son Jesus Christ?
  • Do you stay connected to him in your thoughts and motives?
  • Do you look at the depth of your existence?
  • Do you know that you don’t belong to yourself, but instead to the one who created you?
  • Do you appreciate everything you have, see, feel, taste, smell, and sense?

If so, you’re probably on the right track.

What are other ways you walk with your Creator?

Remember Him as often as you can throughout each day.
