How are you at visualizing?

The Bible talks in many places about using our minds constructively.

For example, Romans 12:2-3, Philippians 4:8, 2 Timothy 1:7, Proverbs 4:23.

Did you know that the human brain can treat visualized scenes and images as if they were real? The occipital lobe, located at the back of the head, is responsible for vision and being able to visualize scenes.

According to one article, the brain likes, and even craves, visual images! It might be one reason why humans learn well from pictures, graphics, and videos. It might also be why humans relate well to artwork, landscapes, colors, and pictures of plants, family, friends, and animals.

Garden Science

There’s plenty of scientific evidence that visualizing something can benefit you. For example, athletes have known and used it for a long time. From children to elderly, visualizing can help you improve.

What if you are hurt or have an ailment, and are trying to heal? To help recover, in addition to taking supplements or healing therapies, you can imagine yourself being well, and see the part that afflicts getting better. All healing comes from our Heavenly Father through His Son Jesus Christ.

Natural Treatment

How can we apply visualization to our spiritual lives?

In a world of false information and distractions, you can always find help, peace, and hope by visualizing what’s written in the Bible verses. Whether a goal is to have compassion for what the people of Almighty God experienced, understand the power of the Almighty God in creation or in orchestrating events throughout time, or preparing yourself to enter His kingdom to come, picturing it can help you achieve it.

When it comes to reading the Bible, our eyes often see only the words. But if you focus, you can see those words with pictures as the Bible verses are read.

If you learn better with pictures than words, or need a boost in comprehending what a Bible verse is saying, tune in to your ability to visualize as the Bible verses are read. When you picture it, you can get a deeper meaning of what it says.

For example:

Exodus 14: Picture in your mind as Moses and the Israelites passed through the walls of water in the Red Sea on either side that divided to create a path, with Pharaoh in pursuit. Envision yourself as one among them, knowing with faith that you will be saved.

Exodus 13 14

Daniel 6: Or, imagine yourself being with Daniel in the lion’s den. How dark is it, what can you see, how does it smell?

Daniel and Lions

1 Samuel 17: As the Philistines are gathered for battle, imagine David standing within a slingshot distance of Goliath!

David and Goliath

Matthew 14, John 6: See yourself sitting among the 5,000 people that Jesus fed. Feel the love and kindness that Jesus had for the people. Then afterward, picture Jesus as he walked on water!

Fish and Bread

Daniel 3: Be among Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego as they refused to worship Nebuchadnezzar’s image and were cast into the fiery furnace. Feel the heat, or not!

Fiery Furnace

Acts: When we read about the acts of the Apostles, picture yourself walking with them, feeling the ground under your sandals, hear their discussions, and see the miracles they performed.

Acts of the Apostles

Luke 24: Envision as Jesus Christ died, and the gift that His Father gave to you by resurrecting Him. Feel the hope that Jesus gave you when He returned to heaven to be with His Father until his second coming occurs.

Christs Tomb

Revelation 4, Revelation 19: Imagine being in heaven with our Heavenly Father Yahweh/Jehovah, Jesus Christ, the 4 beasts, 24 elders, and millions of angels. Feel the energy and excitement!

Before Jesus Christ returns, imagine yourself being ready. Feel the seriousness of belonging to him and trusting him as you are potentially taken to unfamiliar places and cultures, and partake of fulfilling prophecies.

When you visualize in your mind’s eye, use all your senses – sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touch, feelings, intuition. See if it brings peace and hope.

Try a little practice, and see how it works for you!

If you picture words regularly, share a few tips or ideas!

Have a visual week!

I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own blog
and was wondering what all is needed to get setup? I'm assuming having a
blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I'm not very internet savvy so I'm not 100% sure.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.
