Pope Francis, Can He Bring Change?

Pope Francis and the Vatican are central to the cover story in the August, 2015 issue of National Geographic,. There are talks of how Pope Francis is making changes that are uncharacteristic of the Pope and the Vatican.  One of the discussions is around removing celibacy as a requirement for priests.  How odd that the topic of celibacy would be open for discussion.  According to National Geographic, "The papal line begins with Peter, the disciple of Jesus Christ..."  When reading the gospel of Mark chapter 1 verse 30 "...Peter's wife's mother lay sick of a fever..."  according to scripture, the first pope was married.  Doesn't the Pope defer to the teachings of Christ, and the writings of the apostles and the prophets?
Why does the Catholic church forbid their priests to marry when Paul clearly stated that commanding not to marry is not scripturally based?

Celibacy then becomes an individual's  choice as Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 7: 27-35.

What do the ministers of the Almighty God (Christ, the prophets and the apostles) teach about the subject of celibacy? In one of Paul's letters to Timothy, he writes, "Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that it the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils;  Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;  Forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it is received with thanksgiving."
1 Timothy 4:1-4
Heeding seducing spirits and doctrines of devils that forbid individuals to marry and command them not to eat meat. Did "our minister" Paul say all meat is to be received with thanksgiving?  For years the Catholic church forbade their followers to eat meat on Friday.  Fish became the Friday fare.  Can the Pope make changes or is the true recipe for change written in the scriptures?   Peter writes, "Knowing this first that no prophecy of the scripture is open to private interpretation.  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."  1 Peter 1: 20 & 21  Sticking with the teachings of those chosen (Christ, the apostles and the prophets) to deliver our Creator's message, makes more sense than trusting in the decisions/changes/teaching of Popes, who for centuries, have shown little regard to The Almighty God's precepts.  One of the wisest men, Solomon, wrote in Proverb's 1: 23, "Turn you at my reproof and I will pour my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you."
