Most importantly, Jesus Christ.
The apostles followed Him too.
So, it’s also safe to follow the Apostles.
Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:1
Following Jesus Christ makes a pleasant path.
Put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24
A deeper look at being an example to others also reveals the importance of modeling.
Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. 1 John 3:7
What else can make an impact as much as seeing someone model actions of righteousness?
Modeling behaviors for others can help us all understand more profoundly.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
As parents, we attempt to model good behaviors and concepts for our children.
And kids notice everything their parents do.
They often become just like them.
What adults model for others, and parents model for children, affects everyone’s lives.
Similarly, it’s true with scriptural teachings.
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4
Newness of life.
As children have.
Until they learn things they are exposed to.
And begin to form opinions and behaviors of their own.
Where will it all lead?
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge - even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you - so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:3-15
As true friends, we model the behavior of true friendship.
At times, it means not beating around the bush.
At other times, it requires tenderness.
Consider all avenues.
Be playful and see what happens!
And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:2
That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Philippians 3:10-11
Continue to model the good life for others.
And always be open to learning.
Garner every situation.
And create splendid experiences.
A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. Luke 6:40
