Harmonizing Together

And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ…

You are here because you were the fastest swimmer!

Cherish that.

Or maybe the Creator specifically chose you before you were born.

Honor that.

So, here you are in this life and you are associated with the Body of Jesus Christ. Wow!

But how is the Body supposed to work?

Almighty God says He has placed each member of the Body where He wants them. (1 Cor 12:18)

The body is like a Philharmonic or Symphony that has:

- Graceful strings: Violins, violas, cellos, basses, and harp.

- Lovely woodwinds: Flutes, oboes, clarinets, and bassoons.

- Strong brass: Horns, trumpets, trombones, and tuba.

- Lively percussion and keyboard: Timpani, percussion, piano, xylophone, and tambourine.

- Sheets of music by which to play.

- Organized by the Music Director and led by the Conductor.

When all musicians play their instruments,

the audience hears and sees harmony!

If some of the flutes or horns relax their passion, the listeners might hear imbalance or discord.

And the integrity of the symphony begins to diminish.

Likewise, in Jesus Christ’s church we must harmonize.

As members of their symphony, we cannot wither, slack off, or fade away.

The Director and Conductor are listening and watching. Along with their angels.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Romans 12:16-18

You are one out of millions who made it.

Stop and consider.

Your conception beat numerous others because yours had strength.

With the gift of life that you’ve been given, apply harmonizing techniques every day.

Encourage. Participate. Support. Harmonize. Unite.

Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 1 Peter 3:8

Keep practicing. Tune your instrument, and yourself.

… As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-16
