Do not fret because of evildoers,
Be not envious toward wrongdoers.
For they will wither quickly like the grass
And fade like the green herb.
We climb up, up, up, and in an instant, lose our footing.
One step, then two, and then whoops, a swift slip.
Maybe we weren’t watching.
Trust in the Lord and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
Why do we sorrow and cry, fret and frustrate ourselves?
We blame others.
We grumble and complain.
Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light
And your judgment as the noonday.
Why did they…_____?
Why didn’t they…_____?
Why don’t they…_____?
Why is there no justice about…_____?
Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
Amid our own confusion, we crash.
And then we awake again.
Cease from anger and forsake wrath;
Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.
A vicious cycle of restarts.
Days, weeks, months, years.
Sometimes even a lifetime!
For evildoers will be cut off,
But those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land.
Until we are wide-awake and conscious enough to realize…
“That’s enough. No more. The _____ stops here.”
Yet a little while and the wicked man will be no more;
And you will look carefully for his place and he will not be there.
But the humble will inherit the land
And will delight themselves in abundant prosperity. Psalm 37:1-11
Why do we hang on to the past?
Or on to what is not healthy, which can bring us low?
Set your minds on things that are above,
not on things that are on earth. Colossians 3:2
What does the ego tell you?
Agony and heartache is not martyrdom, is it?
We are not vindicated through the anguish of historical arrangements.
You cannot make them any different now.
Here’s how he addressed his own condition:
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.
But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,
I press on toward the goal to win the prize
for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14
What does your heart tell you?
Our Heavenly Father teaches us to let go.
Forgive. Move on.
Work on letting go. Whatever it is.
Again, recollect Paul…
But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself,
if only I may finish my course and the ministry
that I received from the Lord Jesus,
to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. Acts 20:24
When the adversary challenges to bind us...
Strengthen. Remain awake. Look forward.
Hold on to what matters. And don’t let go!
Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62
Are you holding on to what matters?
What are you holding on to that would better assist you if you let go?
What other ways can you share on letting go?
