bigstockphoto_news_1215526.jpgThanks for visiting our blog. This blog is dedicated to current news and special interests that may not be found in our Bible Study or Prophecies sections.

Jesus Christ, Jehovah God's Son, told us to watch. We watch the news and current events because many situations might fit what the scriptures say. It can help us to better prepare ourselves for Christ's second coming. Our articles are meant for sharing on information to watch both in current events and in improving ourselves as disciples of Jesus Christ.

We encourage comments and information regarding Bible scripture.

See Yourself More Clearly

Written by

I was minding my own business. Intent and focused on finding the things I needed. I only had a couple of days before my family arrived, and I still had a million things to get done.

With extreme disdain I hear him say, “Why in the &%^# do people buy tea? Why don’t they just make it?”

“Because they’re lazy.” She said it as though it were a matter of fact about anyone who buys tea.

After a few moments, it registered and I realized they were talking about me.

Living Simply and in Harmony

Written by

Life is the accumulation of experiences, thoughts, actions, and choices. If your life has become too big, or too complex, you can scale it down to fit your own needs. When you prove what the will of Almighty God is and follow through to do it, you can make room in your life for everything that matters.

To improve the quality of your life, all you have to do is to commit yourself to living simply and in harmony, internally within yourself, with other people, and with everything in your environment. Identify your purpose, live according to it, and reduce all of the distractions that pull you away from it.

Picture 2015 as the year to simplify so that you can improve the quality of your life.

Gratitude

Written by

Just recently, someone anonymously surprised me with a very generous expression of kindness. It was completely unexpected, which made the gift even more special and appreciated. Although I couldn’t thank this individual in person, not knowing who he or she was, I felt extremely grateful and warmed by the wonderful show of thoughtfulness. I experienced a feeling of true gratitude.

For many people, the month of November brings a holiday that commemorates thankfulness for what we have and who or what is important in our lives. But shouldn't we take an opportunity daily to reflect upon all of the many ways—both the grand and small—that so enrich our lives?

The Miracle of You

How often do you stop to consider the amazing workings of your own body? Even if you have your share of aches and pains or other conditions, there are still a myriad of functions that go on within our systems starting before birth until the day we die. The Power of Prayer

Perhaps you have heard someone say that they believe in “the power of prayer”. Is prayer an important part of your daily life? If it is, why and how do you pray? If you don’t pray, maybe it’s time to explore the reasons why you don’t. The following discussion might prompt you to take a closer look at what the Bible says about prayer.

"Big Bang" or Creation?

Written by
While many scientists whole-heartedly embrace what is commonly known as the “Big Bang” theory, many people in religions believe that the creation of the heavens and the earth happened within one week that consisted of seven 24-hour days. Is it possible that the Holy Bible supports a theory like the Big Bang?

Family Ties

Written by

No matter how close or distant we may be with our individual family members, there is no doubt that most everyone has varying degrees of ties with those we are related to. In the worst of cases, a family relationship may be completely absent except for a shared lineage. But in the best of cases, there is a loving and warm closeness between kin.

The Changing Face of Healthcare

Written by

healthcareDuring a recent trip to a hospital emergency room with a loved one, I began thinking about the care she had received throughout the time there. Other than the few minutes it took initially to insert an IV line, take a few of vials of blood, place an automated blood pressure cuff and leads to a heart monitor, not one of the nurses, doctors, or technicians who came in and out had any need to touch this person again for the duration of the next few hours. All of the information they needed about her care was supplied by the devices she was hooked up to, and was logged into a computerized record.

Refugees and Sojourners

Written by

Syrian-refugees-2203532How would it feel to gather your most important belongings, pack them into a duffel bag or two and set out, possibly on foot, to a completely unfamiliar place, perhaps even in another country. When you arrived to wherever it was you were going, you might find yourself in a stifling, tent city filled with hundreds or thousands of other strangers and the stench of human waste and decay all around you. Maybe --if you are fortunate--you have access to meager supplies of basic food and limited water (possibly not very clean), but no electricity and scant medical care at best. You might find yourself sleeping out in the open air, exposed to the elements, with bugs and other dangers. If you are lucky, you might have a blanket or mat to sleep on.
