Blog: Bible Study and Prophecy

bigstockphoto_news_1215526.jpgThanks for visiting our blog. This blog is dedicated to current news and special interests that may not be found in our Bible Study or Prophecies sections.

Jesus Christ, Jehovah God's Son, told us to watch. We watch the news and current events because many situations might fit what the scriptures say. It can help us to better prepare ourselves for Christ's second coming. Our articles are meant for sharing on information to watch both in current events and in improving ourselves as disciples of Jesus Christ.

We encourage comments and information regarding Bible scripture.

Discovery is a Powerful Word

Written by
Discovery is a powerful word.

It means we have the ability to seek, find, and learn.

To find or learn something for the first time means you have discovered it!

(Yes, we know there is nothing new under the sun.)

What is Mystery?

Written by

You’ve studied the Bible for some time now.

mysteries1
What, if anything, remains a mystery to you?

Prophecies? Most likely.

Secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven? Definitely. Four beasts, 24 elders, mansions, ...

Angels and their spiritual realm? Absolutely. How they travel and reveal messages!

This planet covered with water and without form before plants and animals? Yes.

How the mist rose out of the Earth? For sure. YHWH/Jehovah’s perfect science!

Happiness Comes In All Shapes And Sizes

Written by

Happiness comes in all shapes and sizes.

Sometimes it's a little thing...

Like a smile, or a pat, or a hug.

Or just realizing that you can do it. Whatever it is.

best of everything

Other times it's a gigantic realization of something that you didn't know before.

happy

A nudge from your pet

A joyful look from your child.
A thankful acceptance of your friend.
Can all make you feel happy and grateful inside.

What kind of traveler are you?

Written by
It is always interesting to observe people as they make their way through an airport and note what they carry with them. Some people travel with perhaps only a light backpack or briefcase. Or perhaps even with no baggage at all. Others have a medium-sized bag that might be a bit more of an effort to carry or pull behind them. And you will also see those who have a number of very large, very heavy suitcases that they struggle to maneuver into the checked baggage line. You may see people bumping into others or objects that get in their path because their heavy load makes it cumbersome to easily reach their destination.

Pope Francis, Can He Bring Change?

Written by
Pope Francis and the Vatican are central to the cover story in the August, 2015 issue of National Geographic,. There are talks of how Pope Francis is making changes that are uncharacteristic of the Pope and the Vatican.  One of the discussions is around removing celibacy as a requirement for priests.  How odd that the topic of celibacy would be open for discussion.  According to National Geographic, "The papal line begins with Peter, the disciple of Jesus Christ..."  When reading the gospel of Mark chapter 1 verse 30 "...Peter's wife's mother lay sick of a fever..."  according to scripture, the first pope was married.  Doesn't the Pope defer to the teachings of Christ, and the writings of the apostles and the prophets?

Why does the Catholic church forbid their priests to marry when Paul clearly stated that commanding not to marry is not scripturally based?

Imagine

Written by
The song, "Imagine," written by John Lennon and Yoko Ono addressed the thought of a perfect and peaceful world in the second verse, "Imagine there's no countries...It isn't hard to do...Nothing to kill or die for...And no religion too...Imagine all the people living life in peace...You, you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one...I hope someday you'll join us... And the world a different one." Many may have thought about a sort of "utopia" being a possibility, especially in our innocent youth.

See Yourself More Clearly

Written by

I was minding my own business. Intent and focused on finding the things I needed. I only had a couple of days before my family arrived, and I still had a million things to get done.

With extreme disdain I hear him say, “Why in the &%^# do people buy tea? Why don’t they just make it?”

“Because they’re lazy.” She said it as though it were a matter of fact about anyone who buys tea.

After a few moments, it registered and I realized they were talking about me.

Living Simply and in Harmony

Written by

Life is the accumulation of experiences, thoughts, actions, and choices. If your life has become too big, or too complex, you can scale it down to fit your own needs. When you prove what the will of Almighty God is and follow through to do it, you can make room in your life for everything that matters.

To improve the quality of your life, all you have to do is to commit yourself to living simply and in harmony, internally within yourself, with other people, and with everything in your environment. Identify your purpose, live according to it, and reduce all of the distractions that pull you away from it.

Picture 2015 as the year to simplify so that you can improve the quality of your life.

Gratitude

Written by

Just recently, someone anonymously surprised me with a very generous expression of kindness. It was completely unexpected, which made the gift even more special and appreciated. Although I couldn’t thank this individual in person, not knowing who he or she was, I felt extremely grateful and warmed by the wonderful show of thoughtfulness. I experienced a feeling of true gratitude.

For many people, the month of November brings a holiday that commemorates thankfulness for what we have and who or what is important in our lives. But shouldn't we take an opportunity daily to reflect upon all of the many ways—both the grand and small—that so enrich our lives?
