Not Synonymous with the Bible

Here we are at the end of 2011 and what a year it has been. As is typical of this time of year, we see people bustling about to prepare for holiday celebrations, which includes the celebration of the birth of the God’s Son, Jesus the Christ. What many people do not know is that Jesus was not born in December. Most people do not even stop to think about it.
Every year it seems that Christmas is returning more and more to its original roots! Consider the headline by NBC Nightly News on November 25th: "Black Eye for Black Friday".[1] On that date, 10-15 shoppers were pepper-sprayed by an angry fellow shopper in line to snag the best deal first. A grandfather's face was bloodied and bruised because authorities thought he was shoplifting, when he was only trying to protect his grandson from being trampled by a crowd of crazed shoppers. One shopper was shot in a Wal-mart parking lot in South Carolina and another critically injured during a robbery outside a California Wal-mart. It appeared that the Christmas season was appropriately kicked off in the true nature from which it was derived: with violence and disregard for law and order. What? Isn't "Jesus is the reason for the season"? It's next to impossible to believe that those who pummeled and pepper-sprayed their fellow man in order to "get stuff" were acting in anything but the name of selfishness and greed.
The Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protesters' slogan, "We are the 99%", refers to the difference in wealth between the wealthiest 1% and the rest of the population. [1] Do the protesters believe they can influence the rich and bring about fairness toward the 99%? Are the masses protecting their future by protesting the 1% wealthiest fortunes as the 99% become even poorer? The OWS protests might just be a new avenue for the elite to control the masses using a clandestine method to pave the way for a one-world government. [2]

Vanity and the Ego

King Solomon wrote a truth. All is vanity. Ecclesiastes 1:1-2, 12-18. What does this mean? Vanity is defined as something that has no substance, meaninglessness, worthlessness, emptiness, and futility. All is vanity because everything in this life is temporary. God has subjected us to vanity in hope of salvation. Romans 8:20-24.

Are You Saved?

are you saved.jpgThe topic of being saved is one you have probably heard often if you have had much exposure to so-called Christian denominations. But what does being saved really mean and how does that come about? Perhaps you are familiar with the account in Acts 16:23-34 where the jailer of Paul and Silas asked them the question, “What must I do to be saved?” Paul answered, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved…” If believing is a part of being saved, a person must find out what that involves.

Is The Bible True?

Is the Bible true? This question has probably been asked since the Bible was printed. Was it written by man’s wisdom or was it written through man by God’s inspiration? The Bible can’t be written by man’s wisdom. The contents in the Bible can be trusted as a message from God and His Son on how to live our lives preparing for a better life and promises to come.

The Truth About Death and Hell

There are many misconceptions and fears surrounding the subjects of death and hell, many of which are perpetuated by the various religions of the world. One reason death is so frightening is due to the fact that people often have no certain answers about what happens once the spirit of life is gone out of them. Some believe they may encounter a place of eternal torment, while others think they will immediately float off into heaven and become like angels. These are two very common myths, which God's word easily disproves. His ministers in the Bible teach us the truth about death and hell, and can help alleviate many fears that people have.

What is the Kingdom of God and how can a person become a part of it?

Anyone can run to be a part of God's new kingdom. All that is needed is a sincere desire to do God’s will and learn the ways He wants us to follow. To begin with, a person has to understand that the kingdom of God is the new government that Almighty Jehovah will some day establish to rule over all. The term "gospel of the kingdom" simply means the "good news" of His perfect, forthcoming government.

What the Bible Really Teaches

Before the Earth, planets, and the stars were ever created, there was the Almighty God, Jehovah, who always was.  Then God created His only begotten Son, the Word, and they Together created the Heavens, the Earth, and the angels.
