There is futility which is done on the earth, that is, there are righteous men to whom it happens according to the deeds of the wicked.

On the other hand, there are evil men to whom it happens according to the deeds of the righteous.

I say that this too is futility.

Creation Subjected

So I commended pleasure, for there is nothing good for a man under the sun except to eat and to drink and to be merry, and this will stand by him in his toils throughout the days of his life which God has given him under the sun.

Under The Sun

When I gave my heart to know wisdom and to see the task which has been done on the earth (even though one should never sleep day or night), and I saw every work of God, I concluded that man cannot discover the work which has been done under the sun.

Even though man should seek laboriously, he will not discover; and though the wise man should say, “I know,” he cannot discover.

For I have taken all this to my heart and explain it that righteous men, wise men, and their deeds are in the hand of God. Man does not know whether it will be love or hatred; anything awaits him.

It is the same for all. There is one fate for the righteous and for the wicked; for the good, for the clean and for the unclean; for the man who offers a sacrifice and for the one who does not sacrifice. As the good man is, so is the sinner; as the swearer is, so is the one who is afraid to swear.

This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one fate for all men.

Furthermore, the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil and insanity is in their hearts throughout their lives. Afterwards they go to the dead.

For whoever is joined with all the living, there is hope; surely a live dog is better than a dead lion.

For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten. Indeed, their love, their hate, and their zeal have already perished, and they will no longer have a share in all that is done under the sun.

My Sheep

Go then, eat your bread in happiness and drink your wine with a cheerful heart; for God has already approved your works. Let your clothes be white all the time, and let not oil be lacking on your head. Eccl 8:12-17, 9:1-8

Are You Called? And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called…

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Corinthians 1:9

What did Jesus come to tell us?

About the new covenant, the new testament, where those who are called run the race together for a position in the heavens to rule with Jesus Christ.

He calls it a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession. (1 Peter 2:9)

Jesus' blood confirmed the new testament.

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Matthew 26:26-28

Here’s an interesting comparison.

  • No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:44
  • Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

So God is the one who attracts people to Jesus Christ. They must then go through Jesus Christ to get to the Father. An example is in prayer, where you must pray through Jesus Christ to God.

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3

You can be sure that the calling God has given you will be realized.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28-30

Do you suffer in your calling? Jesus Christ, the apostles, and God’s prophets did. Sometimes we do too.

Cuddling Lambs

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 1 Peter 5:10

If you are called, you must ensure that you’re aiming for the highest calling there is.

For many are called, but few are chosen. Matthew 22:14

Are you chosen?

Jesus told his disciples, students, that he chose them. (John 15:16)

Maybe we are too: Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Colossians 3:12

So run this race with all you’ve got with hope of the promise of a position in the heavenly kingdom with Jesus Christ.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call. Ephesians 4:4

Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

On a related point, the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Romans 11:29

Continue on! (Philippians 3:14)

Are you walking humbly with God? He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do…

With so much chaos going on in the world, looking to politicians for answers will not get you very far. Conversing about politics with family, friends, and co-workers can disrupt everyone’s lives, and leave you feeling hopeless.

But don’t despair.

When it comes to politics, Almighty God YHWH is in charge.

He puts kings in the places where He needs them most to fulfill his will.  Trust in God, not in man.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. Psalm 118:8

Daniel blessed the God of heaven, and said, “Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. “It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding. It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.” Daniel 2:21-22

Holding Light

Discussions about politics are virtually fruitless. They don’t have any good answers.

They fight and bicker, accuse, and lie. Their propaganda is not healing, nor is it enlightening.

Almighty God already chose his son Jesus Christ to be King.

Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” John 18:37

And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. Revelation 1:5-7

Rainbow 1

How about another subject.

The current state of the planet.

When it comes to the environment, global warming, and corrupt people destroying our ecosystem, are you hopeful or hopeless?

Rainbow 2

What if you knew that no matter what the leading rulers of this planet did to the earth, in the end God will heal it and people will live on it?

You can know.

The Bible teaches concepts about people living on our planet in the future when God renovates it. (Psalm 37). He will repair what man has done to it and will restore it to a wholesome condition.

It also teaches that man will not start and fight wars at that time.

When God establishes his house, people will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks, nation won’t lift up swords against each other, and they will never again learn war. Isaiah 2:2-4

That can give you hope.

Trust in God.

Conversations about politics and the state of this planet need to be constructed to give people confidence and courage.

You might think man is in charge. But man’s life is like a vapor, here and then gone quickly.

Man is like a mere breath; His days are like a passing shadow. Psalm 144:4

Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. James 4:14

Your expectation doesn’t need to be unrealistic, but try to find some optimism in God's word.

Back to the original topic, are you walking humbly with your Creator?

If so, how do you know?

  • Do you think about Him every day, and pray to him through His Son Jesus Christ?
  • Do you stay connected to him in your thoughts and motives?
  • Do you look at the depth of your existence?
  • Do you know that you don’t belong to yourself, but instead to the one who created you?
  • Do you appreciate everything you have, see, feel, taste, smell, and sense?

If so, you’re probably on the right track.

What are other ways you walk with your Creator?

Remember Him as often as you can throughout each day.

Young Lambs

Honor him. Talk with Him.

Follow his son. Acts 3:20-23

Show them they are your priority.

Have A Visible Week Do you behave differently when you think someone is watching? Or do you bring your authentic self to every moment…

Genesis 16 13

The Lord looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man. Psalm 33:13

God Sees Hard Work

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. Proverbs 15:3

Nothing Hidden

It is worthy to consider what God sees, how and when, and to weigh in with yourself.

Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality. Colossians 3:22-25

If Anyone Thirsts

Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord for we walk by faith, not by sight we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:6-9

Please God

Imagine you are in the presence of royalty 24x7.

Would that change how you behave when you think no one is watching?

You are!

Remember the unseen ones.

Messengers, good angels and bad ones, Jesus Christ, Almighty YHWH, and others around the throne in heaven.

All are watching. And you’re on stage.

Have a visible week!
