Is Satan a myth?

Jesus Christ, all his Angels and those that follow Christ understand that Satan exists. Jehovah God will expose Satan to the world. Almighty God gave Satan the job to be caretaker of the earth, calling him the "anointed cherub" (Ezekiel 28:13-14). Lucifer believed he could be worshipped like Almighty God and exalted himself to be like God (Isaiah 14:12-16). Scriptures explain how Satan has access to God's throne and to the earth. There are no scriptures describing a horned creature surrounded by a fiery landscape, tormenting people for all eternity with a pointed pitchfork.

There will be a future time period when there will be a war in heaven (Revelation 12:7-13). Satan will be thrown out of heaven and confined to the earth as a human. He will be killed as a man and finally destroyed by Almighty God (Revelation 20:9-10).

It is possible to overcome the decietfulness of higher spiritual beings, this being done by the help of Almighty God, Jehovah and His Son Jesus Christ (1 Peter 5:8-10, James 4:7-8, Ephesians 6:11-18).

If Revelation 12 had already happened, verse 10 would have been fulfilled, and there would be abundant peace on the earth at this current time. But, Christ has not taken rule over the entire world because Satan's time as ruler of this world has not yet come to an end.

We put on the spiritual armor that Paul teaches us so that we can fight against the dark forces that still rule this world, as told to us in Ephesians 6:12. If Jesus Christ had already taken rule, we would not be fighting against the evil that Paul talks about. God and Christ's kingdom on earth will be peaceful, as described in Isaiah 9:6-7.

Revelation 12:7-13 is not something that will happen in the future. It happened before the existence of mankind on the earth. Satan was present in the Garden of Eden (Gen 3, Eze 28:13). The war in heaven has manifested itself as a war on Earth. Why else would Paul tell us to put on spiritual armor (Eph 6:10-17) unless there was a war taking place?

0 #1 Definitely not a mythGuest User 2007-09-08 03:02
Satan is definitely not a myth. There are too many problems in the world for anyone to think that. Since he was the covering cherub chosen by God (Jehovah, Yahweh, YHWH) to take care of the earth, it is evident that he has not done so. But Satan will eventually be destroyed, as God tells us in the Bible.
