Our Creator did not make us so that we can be stressed out all the time. But many of us are. We worry about day-to-day activities, how we will pay the bills, ways to interact with family members, how to help others, and how to be good Christian examples.
Do you constantly feel stressed out? Are your worries worth the mental effort that you expend? If you live in America, you probably run a busy life trying to keep up with work and home while attaining a work-life balance and still have some time to cultivate moments to retain your own sanity. Or maybe you have already learned how to manage the stress that you encounter regularly. Only you can determine the level of stress that is manageable for you.
If you find yourself overloaded or always taking care of someone else’s needs rather than putting your own needs ahead of others, you might need to look for ways to nurture your own inner self. You don’t have to relinquish helping others, but you should weigh the cost of not taking care of yourself in the process of your service to others. Identify ways to nurture yourself that do not cause you to neglect those you serve. Be aware that it takes time to analyze your own needs. Be patient and kind to yourself.
